Rouville-Campbell Manor
A witness to time
THREE CENTURIES OF HISTORY
1694-1844
The seigneury of Rouville was granted by Governor Frontenac to Jean-Baptiste Hertel de Rouville in recognition of his military services. The Hertel family occupied the land for 150 years, until Jean-Baptiste-René built the first neoclassical manor house in 1832.
1844-1955
Major Thomas Edmund Campbell acquired the estate and commissioned architect Frederick Lawford to transform the residence into a Tudor neo-Gothic masterpiece, inspired by his native Scotland. Octagonal turrets, twisted chimneys and triple-thick red brick walls define the manor's iconic silhouette.
1969-1986
Threatened by years of neglect and vandalism, the manor was saved by Catalan sculptor Jordi Bonet. He invested millions in its restoration, making it his creative sanctuary. Under his impetus, the building obtained its official heritage listing in 1977, ensuring its protection for future generations.
1996-2006
Legendary comedian Yvon Deschamps and his wife Judi Richards acquire the manor and build L'Orangerie, a showroom and banquet hall for 200 guests. The estate became a popular destination for large-scale dinner shows, attracting visitors from all over Quebec.
2006-2025
The Imbeau family expands the complex to 70 rooms with the addition of two modern wings. In 2022, the manor is generously donated to the Town of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, which evaluates various community and commercial mandates for this heritage gem before finding the ideal partner.
2025-Present
Belvoir, founded by Louis Lespérance, signs a strategic partnership with the municipality. Manoir Rouville-Campbell joins Manoir Davis and Manoir Maplewood to form an exceptional heritage circuit. The reopening is scheduled for late 2026, marking the beginning of a new era of splendor.
The Belvoir vision: heritage, modernity, sustainability
Belvoir, founded by the Poissant-Lespérance family, adds the Manoir Rouville-Campbell to its portfolio, affirming a new generation’s commitment to preserving our heritage. Our mission is to revitalize Quebec’s architectural treasures by creating gathering places that offer a profound human and historical experience.
Joining the Davis and Maplewood mansions, the Rouville-Campbell becomes the flagship of our heritage circuit. This innovative approach transforms priceless buildings into luxury hotel destinations, where every stay contributes directly to the sustainability of our collective heritage.
A new life for the Manoir
Manoir Rouville-Campbell is entering a new phase. Between now and the planned reopening at the end of 2026, we are working on a phased relaunch, with major renovation and upgrading projects. The goal: to revitalize the site while respecting its heritage character, and build a hospitality destination that will serve the community, visitors and the local economy alike.
A distinctive service offering
Manoir Rouville-Campbell offers a prestigious setting for corporate events (conventions, lac-à-l’épaule) and private celebrations, including weddings. Its versatile offering also includes themed wellness retreats and a rich cultural program.
A true destination, the establishment hosts film and advertising shoots while offering stays in single rooms. This refined hospitality combines rejuvenation, art and professional excellence in the heart of an exceptional historic site.
Evolving spaces and capacities
The Manoir plans to offer up to 70 rooms over the course of the renovation phases. For your events, L’Orangerie will be able to accommodate 200 people, complemented by a variety of flexible lounges and meeting rooms, perfect for workshops or customized meetings.
This progressive deployment is taking place in an exceptional natural setting at the foot of Mont Saint-Hilaire. Precise capacities will be confirmed and published as these heritage spaces are brought back into operation.
